Wild Basin is the southern-most entrance into Rocky Mountain National Park and lies below the south slopes of Mount Meeker, the park's second highest peak.  The mountains that lie at the headwaters of the north fork of the St. Vrain River which courses through this wide-open valley, are some of the least visited peaks in the high country of this well-visited park.
