More than 2 inches of fresh snow is covering the upper flanks of Long's Peak after a "summer storm" on Aug. 23rd.
Mt. Meeker and Longs Peak on the morning of Aug. 23rd, 2007 after the first definitive "upper level wave/disturbance" of the season struck during the early morning hours. Ice season may be here sooner than usual!
UPDATED 8/26: The warm weekend weather removed almost all of this "first blanket of snow" which mostly accumulated above 12,500' during a 1-day storm.
