Lightning-sparked fires have kept Estes Park volunteer firefighters busy.  Recent rain has helped their efforts.

Local volunteers, along with firefighters from the National Park and Forest Services, responded to three fires in the Estes area and one in the Glen Haven area this last week.  All visitors should be aware of the risk of causing fires through negligence as our forests are primed to burn due to a 10 year drought and copious downed trees in the forest.
