Photos from a January 2004 mountaineering trip to Mexico for ascents of Izta and Orizaba.
Admittedly, this was my first ever trip to Mexico after I had already made more than 40 trips to South America for climbing in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Patagonia. I suppose I had been less interested in Mexico mainly due to my ignorance and false prejudices about Mexico City but I have to admit: Mexico was fantastic and I can't wait to return.
Mexico City was great while we were there; the city is full of thriving culture, our guests were very hospitable and overall this was a fantastic trip despite being hit by the biggest snowstorm in 20 years on Orizaba and not being able to get very high-up our biggest objective.
