Dale Remsberg on the first ascent of New Beginnings

Dale made the onsight first ascent of this classic mixed route on November 21, 2003 on the "Guide's Wall" which sits just below the east face of Notchtop Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park.   Given a rating of M5 WI 5 (5.10a drytooling), this route typically features an opening WI 2 ice flow up to this crack which sewed-up perfectly with cams, nuts, and pins.   The hanging curtain of ice above was pretty perfect as well on this day.  On occasion, the ice on this route makes it all the way to the ground for a 100' pitch of WI 5.
