A view of the west face of Notchtop from the Ptarmigan Glacier in RMNP, CO

Nothtop Spire is one of the more striking towers of Rocky Mountain National Park and it can be seen from many vantages including the downtown of nearby Estes Park, Colorado.  The right skyline in this photo contains the south ridge route which is rated 5.9+ and is a high quality crack climb up stellar rock on a striking arete.  The west face to its left contains a couple of more difficult rock routes and the rappel descent from the notch uses the bolted anchors of one of those routes.
