The north and west faces of Longs Peak on Dec 16th as the week-long windstorm abates.

The west face of Longs Peak is my preferred path to the summit of Rocky Mountain National Park's highest peak in mid-winter as these windward facing slopes are scoured by the constant wintertime wind and thus typically have the lowest avalanche danger and offer great cramponing up the 20-35 degree slopes of the Trough Couloir where it joins the Keyhole Route.
