The Gordale Scar shines in a rare April sun over Yorkshire Dale, England.

The Gordale Scar is a compact, waterfall-filled canyon framed by soaring walls of hueco'd limestone that include a few choice caves in which to rest from a redpoint.  Raptors, tourists, and the sound of the river combine for a busy but peaceful experience.  The canyon is filled with sport and trad routes up the imposing aretes and a few vertical crack systems that rise steeply out of the dry streambed of clean gravel.  Gordale is a 15 minute walk from the village of Malham, 35 miles northwest of Leeds, England in the Yorkshire Dale National Park.
