The Sharkstooth is one of the highest and most soaring spires of the high country of Rocky Mountain National Park and the long approach to this backcountry spire is one of the most captivating in the park.

Flattop Mountain

Flattop Mountain is the descriptive name given to this non-descript (12,324') summit that sits on the Continental Divide in the center of Rocky Mountain National Park. Accessed easily from the Bear Lake trailhead, this broad and gently rising mountain as seen from the west and east, is a steep-sided and dramatic escarpment viewed on it's northern or southern aspects. The Dragontail Spires rise from the southeastern end of Flattop Mountain with the opposite, northwestern side containing the many Ptarmigan Finger couloirs and ribs.

Hallett Peak

The North Buttress on Hallett is the closest alpine wall to the road in RMNP and the amazing rock on this face is very climbable with most routes going at the moderate grades of 5.8 and 5.9 on a 1000' tall cliff.

Longs Peak is dominated by it's east face the Diamond, but this multi-faceted mountain, the highest in Rocky Mountain National Park at 14,255', has more than 100 different routes from exposed scrambles to some of the most difficult rock climbs in the world that take a direct line to it's airy summit.

Notchtop Spire is one of the more accessible big spires of Rocky Mountain National Park and it offers a spectrum of multi-pitch routes that access this striking summit that rises vertically above Lake Helene in the upper Odessa Gorge.

Pagoda

Pagoda, sitting at the head of the Glacier Gorge stands out as a very triangular peak with a flat, slabby north face that stares down this cold valley. The North Buttress splits the middle of this big face and takes a direct line to this high summit at 13,497'.

Spearhead

Spearhead at 12,575' is dwarfed where it sits below the imposing north faces of Chiefshead, Pagoda and McHenry's Peak in the upper Glacier Gorge valley. Yet despite being just a "bump" in the midst of these giants, the east face of this spiked monolith is littered with climbable cracks and many of the best multi-pitch alpine routes in the park ascend it's flanks.

Taylor Peak

Taylor Peak's east and south faces contain some of the best mixed snow, ice and rock climbing routes in Rocky Mountain National Park and although the route descriptions may sound moderate, all of these routes have sufficient route finding and technical challenges for the experienced alpinist.
